The Monday Club is at 37 South Maple Street in Webster Groves, at the corner of Maple and Cedar, one block east and south of the big intersection at Lockwood and Elm.
Click here for a Google Map. This will show you a picture of the Monday Club from the corner of Maple and Cedar. Close the street view to see a map where you can zoom in or out, or get door-to-door directions.
For most people, the easiest approach to the Monday Club is from Route 44. Take the Elm Street exit and go north about five blocks to Cedar. If you get to Lockwood, you've gone one block too far. At Cedar, turn right. The Monday Club is the last building on the left before Maple.
Here is an entry from the 1915 Missouri Library Association Handbook (the 1915 photo is from the handbook):
"Webster Groves, St. Louis county, Population 7080.

Building - the club and library building was erected in 1911 by the Monday Club on a lot donated to the club on condition that the club should house and maintain the library until such time as the city government should be prepared to take it over and support it. Cost of the building, approximately, $6,000.00; construction concrete; one story; ceiling height about 14 feet; dimensions of ground plan 40x60 feet; interior finish hard pine and plaster; wood wall shelving; electric lighting; hot air heating plant. Plan provides one large club assembly room, which is also used as a library reading room, book room and delivery room; two coat rooms and service rooms are provided at one end of the building, and two small rooms in front are used by the library for special collections of books. Architect, Lawrence Ewald, St. Louis, Mo."
The Monday Club housed the library from 1911-1927, when the library was moved to the Webster Groves high school. In 1932, the architect Harris Armstrong remodeled and enlarged the Monday Club. Armstrong's addition includes the two-story portion toward the West, including the new Mediterranean-style side entry facing Cedar Avenue. The original front entrance for the older one-story portion of the building is still there, facing east at 37 South Maple Avenue in Webster Groves, Missouri.
