About the Monday Club BuildingHere is an entry from the 1915 Missouri Library Association Handbook (the 1915 photo is from the handbook):
The Monday Club housed the library from 1911-1927, when the library was moved to the Webster Groves high school. In 1932, the architect Harris Armstrong remodeled and enlarged the Monday Club. Armstrong's addition includes the two-story portion toward the West, including the new Mediterranean-style side entry facing Cedar Avenue. The original front entrance for the older one-story portion of the building is still there, facing east at 37 South Maple Avenue in Webster Groves, Missouri. |
